GRADUATE YOUNG INVESTIGATOR PROGRAM
|
GRADUATE YOUNG INVESTIGATOR PROGRAM All graduate students in the five participating SINAM schools are invited to compete in the Graduate Young Investigator (GYI) Program. Individuals or groups of students will propose an innovative research topic that involves at least two faculty members in SINAM from different fields, to study a nanomanufacturing topic using a multidisciplinary approach. We expect to fund 1-2 student projects each year at $25-30K per project. Two faculty members will be expected to endorse the 5-page proposal before it is submitted. This program will allow graduate students to experience being both a “driver and director” in research and inspire them to work across different disciplines. The students will combine the GYI funding with resources from the faculty advisers to conduct an exploratory research project. The GYI program will be calling for proposals soon, please stay tuned! SINAM-Engineering Pathway Collaboration SINAM has started a new collaboration with Engineering Pathway (EP) to share our educational materials, including our popular programs like Discover Nanotechnology Grades 7-12, and Nanomanufacturing Summer Academy for Undergraduate, to a broad range of audiences. EP is a digital library served as the engineering “wing” of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) and has over 6,000 registered users and approximately 1.4 million hits with 300,000 page views per month. |
